It’s November in Finland, and we start to really get into winter. There are not many hours of daylight left and, especially if there is no snow and it is raining, the weather can be quite depressing.
In Kuhmo area, we are fortunate in that at least part of November we enjoy snow on the ground and in some years we can even go skiing or ice-skating. Sometimes there can be crispy, sunny, frosty days. Also this year we have been able to see the Northern Lights again in November.
What else can you do to get through November in Kuhmo?
Finns often start celebrating Pre-Christmast partys with colleagues or friends. Our Pre-Christmas celebrations also include generous servings of traditional Christmas delicacies. For culture lover Kuhmo has versatile repertoire of culture even for this darkest time – for example, at Kuhmo Hall, we have been able to enjoy concerts, dance performances, theatre and an operetta this year.
At Hotel Kalevala you can curl up by the fireplace by candlelight, enjoy the taste experiences of our restaurant and enjoy the warmth of the sauna and jacuzzi, whatever the weather. During the daylight hours you can go hiking or fat biking.
If you want to calm down, enjoy the silence and pamper yourself, welcome to visit us on November.
Ps. There are also cheap accommodation offers this time of year!
