The trip includes hot drinks and sausages cooked over a fire. All necessary equipment is provided and available for use throughout the day, making it a hassle-free and enjoyable experience.

Our hotel is located on the shores of Lake Lammasjärvi, so getting to the ice fishing spots is easy.

Snowshoe & Ice fishing

Experience a true Finnish winter tradition on this relaxed outdoor adventure. We’ll put on snowshoes and walk through snowy landscapes to a frozen lake, where you’ll get to try ice fishing with the help of a local guide.

On the lake, you’ll learn how to drill a hole in the ice and use traditional fishing gear. Ice fishing is not only about catching fish — it’s also about enjoying the silence and beauty of the winter wilderness.

We’ll warm up by a campfire, enjoy hot drinks and small snacks, and hear stories about local winter life. If we’re lucky and catch a fish, we can fry it over the open fire.

Taiga Snowshoe and Ice Fishing to Wilderness Lake

We’ll start with a drive to the Lentiira area, where snowshoeing will lead us deep into the heart of the forest, eventually reaching a secluded wilderness lake. Along the way, you may spot tracks of wild animals such as wolverines, elk, and hares, with our professional wildlife guide sharing fascinating insights about the local fauna.

At the lake, we’ll try our hand at ice fishing, hoping to catch perch hidden beneath the ice. To warm up, we’ll gather around a fire, which you’ll learn to build—a fundamental wilderness survival skill.
